We are a company aimed at revolutionizing cervical cancer screening by using the latest technology to predict cancer. Using an easy-to-use patented screening device Smart Scope® CX, we intend to make cervical cancer screening available to all. Founded in 2013, Driven by the belief that regular screening can save the lives of over 300,000 women worldwide, we are a team comprising medical researchers, data scientists, business leaders, technocrats, medical professionals, and innovators.
Periwinkle Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is an ISO 13485:2016 certified, national award-winning company that has designed the patented Smart Scope® device and the accompanying Net4Medix® application. We work with renowned research institutes and organisations such as Tata Memorial Center, Tata Trusts, PATH Global, medical colleges, and hospitals across India.
Every year, Cervical Cancer causes over 300,000 deaths in women across the globe. Due to low levels of awareness, lack of efficient and objective screening techniques, and poor medical facilities, most of these fatalities are in developing countries. With about 26% of these cases, India tops the list of countries with casualties. This cancer is caused by HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) and 80% of sexually active women are vulnerable to infection by this virus.
The Current Cervical Cancer screening methods are subjective and time consuming. Moreover, these facilities are only available in specialty hospitals in big cities. As a result, over 90% of women in India never get screened for this cancer and many don’t even know that they are at a pre-cancerous stage. Studies show that 1 of 3 cases of cancer deaths can be avoided by regular screening. Smart Scope® CX is a portable device which can be carried in a small, handy case and using the equipment, the examiner can complete the test within 7 minutes. Also, each screening is very affordable as it allows rapid and regular screening of large populations and early detection of cervical abnormalities
